Pastor Roderick S. Parks, M.Div.
Reverend Roderick S. Parks serves as the Pastor of the New Friendship Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland where he was duly installed by Pastor Anthony G. Maclin on September 20, 2015.
Reverend Parks accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized in 1976 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Washington, DC by Rev. Dr. Willie J. Mason.  He was licensed to preach on January 8, 1996 and ordained to the Gospel Ministry on March 22, 2003 by the Glendale Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Anthony G. Maclin.
From 1999 through 2008 Reverend Parks served as the full time Special Assistant to Pastor Anthony G. Maclin at The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square (formerly known as Glendale Baptist Church).  Because of his faithfulness, hard work and dedication to God's will and His work, in 2008 Reverend Parks was promoted to the position of Executive Pastor to oversee the activities, plans, and development of over 83 Sanctuary ministries.  He was best known for providing practical leadership that encouraged all to work to "Advance The Kingdom Agenda" through Christian Education, Evangelism and Excellence.
In December of 2011, Reverend Parks was called to Pastor The Historic Second Baptist Church of East Warsaw, Virginia where he was duly installed by Pastor Anthony G. Maclin on May 27, 2012.  While there church grew spiritually, financially, exponentially.
Reverend Parks is a member of many organizations and associations including the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Missions Convention, the Hampton University Ministers Conference, the Kingdom Association of Covenant Pastors and is also a lifetime member of the NAACP.  He is a former member of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia and the Northern Neck Baptist Association.
Reverend Parks prides himself as being a lifelong learner. He attends numerous conferences, seminars and lectures. It is with that mindset that Reverend Parks has continued his spiritual growth and development.  He attended the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University where he earned a Masters of Divinity Degree with a concentration in Homiletics and Pastoral Care.
Reverend Parks is married to the former Ronda Blacknall. They have two beautiful daughters, Zia Catherine-Marie and Zionna Grace.
